About Terms and Conditions
We ask people to check our Terms & Conditions policy prior to booking our tours. By making a purchase, booking, or using any of our products and services, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions, as well as the Cancellation Policy as it is outlined herein. Athens Historic Experiences reserves the right to change/ modify booking conditions at any point before you confirm your booking. Our policies and their terms may be changed or updated at the discretion of the Company. In such cases, the updated policies and terms will apply to all services booked after the date and time the changes are published on our website.
Cancelation Policy
We strive to provide a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all our guests. To maintain the highest standards — the ones we ourselves aspire to — we offer only a limited number of tours per day, led by our carefully selected top tour guides.
As a result, we have only a limited number of positions available, which unfortunately often means we have to turn down many enthusiastic applicants. It also gives us little flexibility to accommodate certain requests. All requests are subject to availability.
Nevertheless, we understand that our guests may sometimes face mitigating circumstances, and plans can change — whether by choice or necessity. In order to accommodate such changes while maintaining the quality of service for all our guests and ensuring the sustainability of our operations, we have established the following cancellation policy. Please read it carefully:
Booking Changes
If you wish to change your booking, we kindly ask that you notify us by phone or email at least 48 hours before your scheduled tour or excursion. This gives us the best chance to find a suitable solution in time.
If that is not possible, we require that any change requests be submitted at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled start time. Please note that no changes can be accepted within 24 hours of your tour or excursion.
Due to their policies, purchased tickets of archaeological, museums, galleries and monuments are not refundable. In the case of change of your reservation, you will have to purchase new tickets.
Subject to availability, we will do our best to accommodate your request. If you submit your request at least 24 hours in advance and we are unable to make the change due to limited availability in our other tours, we will offer you either:
  • A gift card of equal value
    or
  • A full refund for that booking.

Guest Cancellations
If you need to cancel your booking, a full refund is available for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of your tour or excursion.
Please note: Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time are not eligible for a refund, regardless of the reason.
Purchased Tickets:
Tickets purchased for archaeological sites, museums, galleries, or monuments are non-refundable due to the policies of those institutions.
To protect yourself from potential cancellations or non-refundable expenses, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Please note that we are not responsible for any losses if your selected travel insurance policy does not cover cancellations, delays, illness, or medical expenses.

Late Arrivals / No Shows
Due to strict time slot systems implemented at major attractions to manage high visitor volumes, we strongly recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time of your tour or excursion. Our groups depart promptly at the scheduled time.
As we operate a limited number of small group tours, we cannot guarantee participation if you arrive late. We also may not be able to reassign you to another group on the same day or a different day.
For group tours or excursions—particularly those involving transportation by bus—it is usually logistically impossible to join the group after the bus has departed the meeting point.
Please note:
Late arrivals, regardless of the reason (including difficulty finding the meeting point or unforeseen circumstances), are not eligible for a refund.
No-shows are also not eligible for a refund, under any circumstances.
Purchased Tickets:
Tickets purchased for archaeological sites, museums, galleries, or monuments are non-refundable, in accordance with the policies of those institutions.
Cancellations by Athens Historic Experiences
Athens Historic Experiences reserves the right to cancel, modify, or replace any tour or service at any time, for any reason, without penalty—other than issuing a full refund.
Such changes may occur due to site or museum accessibility issues, unforeseen events affecting traffic (including strikes, demonstrations, marches, marathons, sporting events, etc.), disruptions in public areas, adverse weather conditions (such as storms, floods, or snow), or other unexpected circumstances.
In these cases, if the alternative options we offer do not meet your satisfaction, we will provide a full refund of the original purchase price.
Force Majeure
We disclaim responsibility for any cancellations, delays, or changes resulting from adverse weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control. These may include, but are not limited to: illness or personal difficulties, theft, labor disputes, machinery breakdowns, government restrictions, war and/or terrorism, defects in any transport vehicle, or accidents.
Regardless of the circumstances, our tours will proceed whenever possible. If a site, attraction, or scheduled visit is partially closed or inaccessible due to a force majeure event, the tour will still take place.
If a site, attraction, or visit is completely closed due to such events — including strikes or unforeseen closures — Athens Historic Experiences will make every effort to contact guests as soon as possible. In such cases, we will offer a suitable alternative, reschedule the service, or provide a refund, subject to availability and at the sole discretion of the company.
To protect yourself from potential cancellations or non-refundable expenses, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Please note that we are not responsible for any losses if your selected travel insurance policy does not cover cancellations, delays, illness, or medical expenses.
For a booking, purchase or other request to be considered successful, a confirmation email must be sent by us first.
